14 jewellers, DMCC and DGJG take centre-stage at the Retail Jeweller World Dubai Forum and Awards 2021
The winners took it all at the awards that followed the forum and panel discussions, and the winners had a lot to be thankful for in a year that saw devastation of an unprecedented scale.
They came, they saw, they conquered.
The gem and jewellery industry in the Middle East had plenty to cheer about on April 7, 2021, courtesy The Retail Jeweller World Dubai Forum and Awards. After stakeholders in the industry filled themselves up on hors d’oeuvres in the form of knowledge that came with insightful panel discussions and nurturing presentations, the sweet end was the awards. The event saw 149 delegates from UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Jordan.
The Retail Jeweller World Dubai Forum honoured jewellers who braved the Covid storm heartily and kept the creativity and thirst for innovation alive in them. Sixteen categories were announced, and the winners hinted at all that they did differently to bag the honours.
The first category was the Mother’s Day Jewellery of the Year and the winner was Jawhara Jewellery. Tamjid Abdullah, the deputy CEO of the company, collected the award. “All of us who lost your mothers this year will be appreciative of this sentiment. When you do something for your mothers, it is the ultimate form of honour. The Jawhara family has put in a lot of effort to design a series for mothers across the world,” he said.
The proud winner for the next category, Millennial Gold & Diamond Jewellery of the Year, was Malabar Gold and Diamonds. KP Abdul Salam, while collecting the award, said, “We are having a physical event after a long time. This is a great initiative by the Retail Jeweller World. I thank everyone for the award. We are targeting millennials because we want to bring them back to the industry from other fields. It is very important to hone young minds.”
The next category was Bridal Wedding Jewellery of the Year and the winner was Salem Al Shueibi Jewellery. “It is a great honour to be collecting this award. This was an amazing experience and the people who supported us are the real winners. We will hopefully win a lot more trust,” said Dr Motaz Al Shueibi, who collected the trophy and the certificates.
The 21kt Gold Jewellery of the Year award went to Taiba Jewelry and Diamond Jewellery of the year went to La Marquise. The winner of the Gold Fashion Line jewellery of the Year was L’azurde.
The Coloured Gemstone Jewellery of the year award went to Joyallukas. “I would like to dedicate the award to the hardworking employees of the company and would like to thank Retail Jeweller World for recognising us,” said Thomas Scaria, head of corporate finance of Joyalukkas.
The next category, Illusion Diamond Jewellery of the Year, was bagged by Mahallati Jewellery. Dhamani Jewels won the social media campaign of the year. “It was a difficult year and the target audience was before us,” said Manish Dhamani, CEO, Dhamani 1969.
The Red Carpet Jewellery of the Year went to Liali Jewellery. Anuraag Sinha, managing director of Liali Jewellery, said, “I mean to thank GJEPC and Ithra Dubai for the opportunity and I am really excited for the entire team.”
The Innovative Jewellery Campaign of the Year was bagged by Damas and Couture jewellery of the year went to Mouawad.
The other categories in the evening were Corporate Campaign of the Year, which went to Devji Aurum, the Retail Promotion Campaign of the Year was won by Dubai Gold & Jewellery Group (DGJG).
Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) was awarded for the PR Campaign of the year and the Jewellery IPO of the year was bagged by Kalyan Jewellers.
The glittering evening came to an end with a dinner and delightful conversations and every jeweller hoped and looked forward to another beautiful event in the latter half of the year.
