46th Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show Attracts More Than 60,000 Visitors

UAE, Sharjah: The Expo Centre Sharjah has brought the 46th Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show to a close on a high note. More than 60,000 visitors from around the world had the opportunity to discover the latest designs, innovations and trends in watches, jewellery, gold, precious stones and diamonds.

The spring edition of the show,which concluded last Saturday, has seen over 500 local, regional and international companies, showcasing a wide selection of luxury watches and jewellery such as gold, diamonds, and precious gems. Stretching over an area of 30,000 square metres, the exhibition hosted an elite of group of global watchmakers and jewellers, representing some 20 countries from around the world.

The participating countries included the United Kingdom, Japan, the United States, Latvia, Lithuania, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Jordan, Lebanon, Bahrain, Turkey, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand and Singapore, Canada as well as many of UAE companies which exhibited the finest designs on a par with the latest trends in gold, jewellery and watches worldwide.

HE Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, Expo Centre CEO, said: ‘The tremendous success achieved during the show will further strengthen Sharjah’s well-deserved reputation as one of the most important business hub in the middle east and north Africa (MENA), which supports the wise vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

This was best reflected in the impressive turnout of visitors, tourists and businessmen, who benefited from the show’s amazing offers. The exhibition showcased a wide spectrum of items at competitive and thanks to the presence of leading manufacturers, world’s famous brands and unique designers of gold, diamonds, precious stones, pearls and watches”.

He added that the centre is very keen to build on its success and achieve its aspirations through the adoption of creative and innovative planning strategies for hosting significant events, including The Watch & Jewellery Middle East Show. This event has particularly become the number one event in the region in terms of the number of exhibitors, the quantity and quality of displayed jewellery, gold, watches and luxury goods as well as the number of frequent visitors coming from around the world.

Unlike other exhibitions, the Watch & Jewellery Show is the only bi-annual event in the region to serve the business-to-business sector (B2B) and the business-to-consumer sector (B2C), Al Midfa highlighted.

The CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah expressed his thanks and appreciation to all partners, sponsors and employees who contributed to the success of the Watch & Jewellery Show. It has evidently left a positive impact on Sharjah’s vital commercial sectors, including consumer products and luxury goods, Al Midfa stressed.

He also thanked other stakeholders who, through their efforts, contributed to the success of the show and making qualitative achievements that helped boost Sharjah’s reputation as one of the world’s leading Hubs for hosting major events.

The Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show is seen today as one of the most important business events for local and regional luxury jewellery and watches markets. It is especially important for the UAE as it strengthens its status in this field given it ranks fifth in the world in terms of jewellery purchases, and first in terms of the rate of purchase per person.
