Digital marketplace Gembridgeposted its highest ever sales in the third quarter of 2022, and boosted its listings of high-quality gemstones and jewellery.

In September, Gembridge sold a large number of rare and beautiful gemstones at several price points, some in excess ofUSD 60,000. Ruby, emeralds, sapphires, fancy coloured sapphires and spinels were the most popular stones to be transacted.

Jean Jureidini, Gembridge’sCommercial Director, said, “Q3 was a record quarter for Gembridge for sales and listings. We saw the quality and variety of our catalogue surge at very competitive prices. Buyers reacted strongly to what was on offer.”

Larry Schaffer, Regional Sales Director, Americas, said, “North American and Asian sellers led the sales growth for Gembridge in Q3 with buyers in the Middle East and Europe driving the demand.”

Gembridge CEO Nick Marrett added, “Our commercial success is a result of new tools and improved usability combined with the personal touch of our regional teams located in the major buying and selling markets of the world.”

Here is a selection of stones transacted on Gembridge in September:

At almost 11 carats, this exquisite Colombian emerald displays a lush vivid green colour and fine lustre. A true statement piece, it was snapped up by a very discerning buyer.

At close to 8 carats, this is a relatively large stone for a round. Perfectly cut and very well-proportioned, this bright stone has a good lustre and a particular green colour, not usually seen in fancy-coloured sapphires.

A Ceylon sapphire that ticks all the boxes. With a high lustre, this very well cut and proportioned stone exhibits a vibrant blue colour.

3.01 ct Ruby

A spectacular eye-clean no heat ruby from Mozambique that displays a stunning vivid red colour. The perfect size to adorn a bespoke piece of jewellery.

Mined in the Umba Valley,Tanzania, this modestly-sized orange sapphireis stunning in clarity and colour, yet remains surprisingly affordable for the quality it exhibits. Adeepintense orange colour, yet very smooth and warm.

Nature has gifted us with an intriguing stone in the form of this elegant oval spinel. Its particular colour (bubblegum red) is unenhanced.

The jump in transactions coincides with a sharp increase in the number of listings.

The launch of Gembridge’s “Multiple Upload Tool”, which enables wholesalers to upload up to 10,000 listings at a time, has led to a surge ingemstone and jewellery uploads.

This has enabled Gembridge to sign up new leading wholesalers in the United States, Europe and Asia, further boosting the quality and competitiveness of its inventory.
