Sotheby’s Dubai unveils first jewellery series in collaboration with Nadine Ghosn

On March 13, Sotheby’s introduced its first ever line of modern and contemporary jewellery in Dubai. Created by Lebanese jewellery designer Nadine Ghosn, this is the first time an auction house has ever offered a series that features up-and-coming, artisan contemporary fine jewellers.

The series’ first guest will be Ghosn, a multi-award-winning modern jewellery designer recognized for elevating commonplace items. Many individuals may be familiar with the designer through well-known designs like the hamburger ring or the “ShutUp” earrings or from the fact that Beyoncé, Ariana Grande, and the legendary Karl Lagerfeld are customers.

Ghosn, who is from the Middle East, seemed thrilled to be having her first show in the region. She said, “I’m thrilled to be the first guest designer for Sotheby’s Modern and Contemporary Jewellery Series and to launch it officially in Dubai.”

Every item in the collection is a whimsical revision of commonplace utensils including forks, spoons, and straws. The collection is hardly typical, ranging from a fork bracelet with spaghetti strings soldered onto the prongs to a carefully made straw bracelet set with pink sapphires.

Nadine Ghosn Fine Jewelry is still fundamentally handcrafted. This brand is proof that up-and-coming designers from around the world are capable of producing pieces with a high degree of craftsmanship that can compete with those from Bond Street or Place Vendôme.
