We’ll expand Kooheji Jewellery in Saudi Arabia in line with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030: Ahmad Jawdat

The brand’s current focus is also on growing in Bahrain, to give better reach and service to its clients

Seventy-one years ago, brothers Abdullah and Abdul Wahed Al-Kooheji co-founded a trading store in Abqeq, Saudi Arabia and soon established a name in the world of high-end jewellery in the Kingdom of Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. Over the years, Kooheji Jewellery has partnered with international jewellery designers and brands such as Arzano, Tirisi, Damaso and Cammilli who provide elegant designs of the finest and purest pieces of diamonds and precious stones.

Here are excerpts from a conversation The Retail Jeweller had with Ahmad Jawdat, CEO, Kooheji Jewellery about the brand’s story:

Yours is a legacy brand since 1952. What are the changing trends in the jewellery market of the Middle East that you have witnessed?

In the past decades, the jewellery industry in the Middle East and worldwide has seen so many changes in terms of the market size, competition with the local and international brands, technological developments as well as the supply chain challenges. Client tastes and preferences saw constant change, posing a big challenge in the market which we as a brand managed to meet.

Tell us the story behind the brand name?

‘Kooheji’ is the family name of the founders Abdullah and Abdul Wahed Al-Kooheji and the existing owners of the brand.

How has Kooheji Jewellery fared over the last couple of years? What is the customer response to your signature collections?

Although the past few years were a bit challenging in the industry, Kooheji Jewellery kept growing as a preferred local brand and managed to keep the clients loyal. The trust that our clients have in our products and the standards we have set, makes their response excellent. They feel special and look distinguished wearing Kooheji collections during their events and occasions. We offer a wide range of jewellery for every happy occasion a customer wishes to celebrate with a special focus on the bridal collections.

Are you planning any new launches or collaborations?

Kooheji Jewellery is committed to launching new products on a quarterly basis to complete the iconic collections and to expand service on different segments.

How are you marketing your brand online? What is the response of customers ?

We have a strong presence online via our e-commerce website where we provide high quality service and fast delivery.

Does your brand have any collaboration with independent designers or any other brands?Kooheji has collaborated with European brands and renowned jewellery factories as they display their collections in Kooheji boutiques across the kingdom.

What next for Kooheji? What is on your future agenda?

Currently, our focus is on Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. We plan to expand Kooheji Jewellery in Saudi Arabia to be aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, and to give better reach and service to our clients. We also aim to expand our collections and improve the overall Kooheji experience.
