Dubai Business Group partners with Ebdaa for inaugural International Jewellery Design Competition 

Azza Al Qubaisi, Maha Al Sibai, Tawhid Abdulla, Ashish Vijay, Laksh Pahuja, Paola De Luca, and Sheikha Alserkal will partake as judges for the event 

Dubai– The Dubai Business Group for Gold and Jewellery Designers has announced an exciting new partnership with Ebdaa, launching the first international edition of the Ebdaa Jewellery Design Competition. This collaboration marks a significant expansion, inviting jewellery designers from around the world to participate in the prestigious event, which previously welcomed entries only from within the UAE. 

The newly renamed Ebdaa International Jewellery Design Award 2024 is the 12th annual competition and, for the first time, opens its doors to global participants. Founded by acclaimed artist and jewellery designer Azza Al Qubaisi, Ebdaa has established itself as a premier platform for recognising exceptional talent in the jewellery industry. This year’s competition will elevate its status by celebrating a wider range of creative excellence and artistic diversity. 

Azza Al Qubaisi expressed her enthusiasm for the expanded scope, stating, “We are thrilled to broaden the competition beyond the UAE, inviting talented designers from across the globe. This collaboration with the Dubai Business Group for gold and jewellery designers will elevate the competition and showcase a broader spectrum of creativity.” 

Participants are invited to submit their designs in several categories: “Message to the World,” where entries should convey a powerful statement; “Echoes of Nature,” which focuses on designs inspired by natural elements; “Heritage and Legacy,” reflecting cultural heritage and personal legacy; “Alexandrite Elegance,” showcasing the unique properties of Alexandrite; and “Design the Trophy of the Year 2024,” a category exclusively for UAE residents and Emirati designers to create a timeless trophy. 

The deadline for submissions is September 28, 2024. Designers are encouraged to carefully review the competition guidelines and submit their most innovative work before the cutoff date. 

Winners will receive significant benefits, including the title of ‘Excellence in Jewellery Design 2024’ for twelve finalists, with one designer awarded the ‘Trophy of the Year.’ Finalists will be provided with an all-expenses-paid trip to Dubai for the awards ceremony on November 14, 2024, and will gain valuable networking opportunities with industry leaders, retailers, and suppliers. Additionally, they will receive media coverage to enhance their visibility and reputation in the jewellery community, along with an exclusive trophy and certificate. 

The competition will be judged by a distinguished panel including Azza Al Qubaisi, Maha Al Sibai, Tawhid Abdulla, Ashish Vijay, Laksh Pahuja, Paola De Luca, and Sheikha Alserkal. Their collective expertise will ensure that the competition highlights the best in global jewellery design. 

The Ebdaa International Jewellery Design Award 2024 will culminate in a grand ceremony at the JGTD Exhibition, Expo City, Dubai, on November 14, 2024, celebrating the finest in creativity, craftsmanship, and innovation in the jewellery industry.
