Dubai-based fine jewellery label Amolune celebrates Palestinian culture and Arab identity
The brand’s new Ahrof collection features diamond-studded pendants with Arabic letter designs, re-imagining the script in a way that is both innovative and reverent
Dubai: Laila Shaheen, founder of fine jewellery brand Amolune, has endeavoured to celebrate her Palestinian roots through her jewellery designs, while giving them a distinct Arab identity.
Amolune’s collections serve as a canvas for story-telling, merging traditional motifs with contemporary design. Shaheen’s debut collection, Palestine Mon Amour, had paid homage to her homeland by celebrating cities like Gaza and Bethlehem. It established her as a designer with a deep connection to her roots.
Shaheen’s latest endeavour, the Ahrof collection, takes this narrative further, focusing on Arabic script in a way that is both innovative and reverent. Using her background in graphic design, Shaheen has re-imagined Arabic letters with a fresh, modern approach.
The Ahrof collection features bubble-letter designs hand-drawn by Shaheen. These minimalist pendants, available in 18-carat yellow gold or 18-carat white gold adorned with diamonds, balance tradition with contemporary elegance.
For Shaheen, these creations are more than just accessories; they are symbols of identity. “Wearing your Arabic initials is more than a style statement; it’s an act of celebration — a way to honour your identity, your heritage, and the language that carries your stories,” Shaheen shared in an interview with Dubai’s MOJEHmagazine.
“It’s a powerful reminder to stand proudly in who you are, embracing the beauty of your culture and the legacy it holds,” she added.
As Shaheen continues to expand Amolune’s portfolio, her commitment to cultural story-telling remains steadfast. By blending traditional artistry with contemporary design, she invites customers to celebrate their heritage through timeless pieces that resonate deeply and speak volumes about identity and belonging.
