Meralda Jewels opens new store on Hamdan Street in Abu Dhabi, in latest retail expansion

At ‘An Evening with Mrunal’, brand ambassador and actor Mrunal Thakur brought together customers, partners and members of the Meralda community to continue the celebration
Abu Dhabi: Meralda Jewels has opened its flagship store on Hamdan Street in Abu Dhabi, marking its latest retail expansion even as the jewellery house announced its target of a 50-store footprint across India, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and North America over the next five years. The store, which opened on September 5, 2026, marks an important phase of the brand’s international growth strategy.
Brand ambassador and actor Mrunal Thakur joined Abdul Jaleel Edathil, Chairman, Meralda Jewels, and Jaseel Muhammed Edathil, Managing Director – International Business, Meralda Jewels, at the opening, alongside customers, partners and invited guests.
The Abu Dhabi flagship brings together bridal, gold, diamond, gemstone, uncut and contemporary jewellery. The store has been designed around discovery and personalized curation, with the brand placing individual preferences at the centre of the customer experience. Rather than presenting jewellery solely by category, Meralda Jewels aims to help customers identify pieces based on personal style and occasions.
“Abu Dhabi is a very special milestone in the Meralda journey. The trust our customers have placed in us has allowed us to grow from our roots in India into new markets and communities. As we grow, we want Meralda to continue building relationships that extend beyond a single purchase and become part of the defining moments of generations of families,” said Abdul Jaleel Edathil, Chairman, Meralda Jewels.
The launch also showcased Raere, Meralda’s uncut diamond collection developed by its internal design team. The collection interprets uncut diamonds through contemporary silhouettes, covering everyday jewellery, mangalsutras, statement pieces and signature designs. The collection reflects the brand’s approach of bringing traditional jewellery elements into designs aligned with changing customer preferences.
“Our ambition is not simply to open more stores. We want to build Meralda into one of the most desirable jewellery houses to emerge from India.Abu Dhabi is an important milestone in that journey. As we work towards our 50-store vision across India, the GCC and North America, our focus will be on taking Meralda into new markets while ensuring that every new destination carries the same point of view on design, curation and customer experience that defines us,” said Jaseel Muhammed Edathil, Managing Director – International Business, Meralda Jewels.
The expansion gives Meralda physical touchpoints in markets where the brand can build customer relationships through personalized jewellery discovery. The combination of store experience, curated collections and an international footprint can support customer acquisition while creating opportunities for repeat engagement across bridal, occasion and everyday jewellery categories.
The Abu Dhabi celebrations continued with ‘An Evening with Mrunal’, bringing together customers, partners and members of the Meralda community. The gathering also gave guests an opportunity to explore the brand’s collections and its approach to jewellery design and curation.
With the Abu Dhabi flagship now operational, Meralda is building its jewellery proposition around design, curation and individual customer preferences.
Meralda Jewels launched its first store in Kozhikode, Kerala, in 2019. It now operates a total of seven showrooms across India and the UAE.
