AIGS opens window at Chanthaburi gems market in Thailand
BANGKOK, December 2019 – The Asian Institute of Gemological Sciences (AIGS) Lab Co has opened a window beside the celebrated Chanthaburi gems market in southern Thailand, in
response to popular demand. “We have made our lab services available to customers in Chanthaburi who had been requesting this for years. The window is just adjacent to the market,” said Kennedy Ho, Chairman of AIGS.
“The window, which will send gems for testing at the AIGS Laboratory in Bangkok, will add value for our clientele in Chanthaburi and has generated a lot of excitement among our customers there,” he added.
The AIGS window in Chanthaburi, which opened on December 6, is located in the Chan Gems Building, ground floor, room D102/2. Gemstones can be submitted to the window from
10:00 to 17:00 hours on Friday and Saturday, which are the busiest market days. Chanthaburi has one of the leading gem markets in Asia, featuring many stones imported from
Cambodia and Myanmar.
The AIGS Lab, based in the Jewelry Trade Center in Bangkok, serves the gem and jewelry industry and the public with a comprehensive range of gemstone and jewelry analysis reports, including
rubies, sapphires and emeralds. The Lab grades, when possible, colored gemstones and diamonds for quality and produces reports to enable both the trade and public to assess their quality for potential purchase.
