The collection translates age-old geometric patterns into gold and gemstones, merging cultural heritage with modern craftsmanship through layered designs, natural materials, and a focus on strength, artistry, and identity

Manama: Al Zain Jewellery has unveiled the latest chapter of its Sadu Collection, a high jewellery line that continues to reinterpret Bedouin craftsmanship for the modern era. The collection draws from the intricate weaving traditions of the Bedouin women of the Arabian Peninsula, transforming geometric motifs once found in fabric into refined gold and diamond creations.

The Sadu Collection pays tribute to an art form inscribed on UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage list, long associated with resilience, resourcefulness, and identity. Each piece echoes the rhythm of traditional weaving through geometric precision, layered compositions, and thoughtful use of negative space. By translating these patterns into precious materials, Al Zain captures both the spirit of heritage and the evolution of design.

A key highlight is the Sadu High Jewellery set, a three-layer composition uniting natural diamonds, black onyx, and mother of pearl. The contrast between the stones mirrors the interplay of desert textures and tones, while the layered design references the dimensionality of woven textiles. Another series within the collection incorporates diamonds and malachite set in 18-karat gold, designed for versatility and layering — a feature that connects traditional craftsmanship with contemporary styling.

The brand’s creative vision behind this collection centres on women who balance pride in their heritage with individuality in self-expression. Each jewel becomes a metaphor for strength inherited and reinvented. As Al Zain describes, the collection is “woven for strength, crafted with intention, and worn with purpose by a woman proud of her heritage.”

While rooted in regional artistry, the execution of the Sadu Collection aligns with international standards of fine jewellery production. The design language reflects modern minimalism without losing authenticity. Every element — from the geometry of the pieces to the tactile play of textures — speaks to precision and restraint, ensuring the craftsmanship itself remains at the centre of attention.

Through this launch, Al Zain continues its focus on honouring Arabian design traditions while expanding their aesthetic vocabulary. The Sadu Collection bridges eras and audiences, positioning Bedouin artistry within a contemporary, global jewellery context. By connecting craft to culture and tradition to innovation, the brand reinforces its role as one of the Gulf’s enduring jewellery houses to balance identity and modernity through design.

Founded in Bahrain in 1930, Al Zain Jewellery operates across the GCC with boutiques in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the UAE. The brand specialises in fine gold, diamond, and pearl jewellery.
