Bahrain Jewellery Centre co‑publishes Arabic jewellery title to document regional craftsmanshipÂ

The project aims to support Gulf industry professionals—designers, jewellers, educators and marketers—by providing a heritage‑driven reference to aid product development and storytelling strategy.
Manama: Bahrain Jewellery Centre has partnered with Bahraini author Seema Haji and Akhbar Al Khaleej Printing Press to launch Durrar‑W‑Jawaher: Your Gateway to the World of Jewelry, an Arabic‑language publication examining the cultural, historical and artisanal aspects of jewellery across the Arab world.
The book provides a structured examination of jewellery as a medium of identity, tradition and craftsmanship. It covers topics including the properties and sourcing of precious metals, gemstone varieties, traditional and modern manufacturing techniques, and the symbolism and storytelling that have underpinned jewellery practices in Gulf communities.
This collaboration fits within Bahrain Jewellery Centre’s strategic aim to support intellectual and cultural initiatives within the regional luxury jewellery sector. By aligning with a scholarly project rather than a commercial campaign, the retailer aims to foster deeper understanding of heritage‑driven design narratives. The book is intended as a reference tool for jewellers, designers, trade educators and collectors who work in or supply the Gulf market.
Seema Haji, known for her focus on cultural research, bridges knowledge of Arab‑world traditions with contemporary industry insights. Durrar‑W‑Jawaher positions itself as a resource for storytelling in jewellery design and marketing, offering detailed case studies and historical timeline references to support narrative‑led product development. It also highlights Bahrain’s historical role as a regional trading hub.
The publication launches amid growing demand for jewellery that is anchored in provenance, craft authenticity and regional identity. Industry data suggests consumers in Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states increasingly seek products that communicate cultural meaning. As a result, brands and retailers in the region are adapting product development and visual merchandising to reflect these values.
For jewellery businesses operating in the Gulf, the book offers practical insights on linking design language, retail strategy and marketing messages to deeper cultural touchpoints. It provides direction on how to embed heritage narratives into product categorisation, in‑store displays, storytelling campaigns and educational events.
Bahrain Jewellery Centre’s role in the project underlines how retailers can act as facilitators of content‑driven industry development. Rather than a conventional branding exercise, the partnership supports a long‑term knowledge asset for the sector.
Durrar‑W‑Jawaher is presented as both a record of Arab jewellery heritage and a professional tool for those seeking to shape the future of Gulf luxury jewellery. It will be distributed through industry channels including schools, trade associations and design networks.
