Bahraini jewellery designer Amal Sanad clinches ‘Best Creativity’ award at Milan Jewellery Week
Her innovative design, blending Bahraini cultural heritage with contemporary aesthetics, earned global acclaim
Manama: Well-known Bahraini jewellery designer Amal Sanad, founder of Kyan Jewellery, was awarded the prestigious ‘Best Creativity’ award at the recently concluded Milan Jewellery Week, becoming the first Bahraini to achieve this recognition.
Sanad’s ability to seamlessly integrate originality with historical influences and modern creativity captivated the jury, earning her the top honour. Her award-winning piece was crafted with Bahraini gold and adorned with various precious stones. As per a statement from Kyan Jewellery, the standout piece was created in collaboration with University of Bahrain artist and academic Dr Mayasa Al Sowaidi. It exemplified Sanad’s artistic vision and distinguished her work from a multitude of competitors.
Expressing her gratitude, Sanad said, “I am deeply honoured to receive this prestigious award during Milan Jewellery Week. This recognition not only highlights my project but also elevates Bahrain’s position in the global jewellery industry, a nation celebrated for its exceptional craftsmanship, gold and natural pearls. This achievement reflects the ongoing development of Bahrain’s creative industries and the vital role Bahraini women play in advancing these sectors with their extraordinary skills and artistic contributions.”

Notably, the fourth edition of Milan Jewellery Week ran from October 15 to 20, recording a significant increase in number of national and international attendees with more than 350 exhibitors from 60 countries.
