Manama: The Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) recently held a comprehensive five-day training course on pearls and gemstones at the Kooheji Training Hall in Youth City. The event attracted a dynamic group of young enthusiasts eager to deepen their knowledge of pearls, gemstones, and jewellery.

The training programme provided participants with a blend of theoretical insights and practical exercises, focusing on five key areas: pearls, diamonds, rubies, emeralds, and sapphires. The course was designed to educate attendees on Bahrain’s storied pearl industry, the fundamentals of various gemstones, and essential skills for purchasing jewellery.

In addition to classroom instruction, participants gained hands-on experience with advanced tools used for gemstone study and analysis.

DANAT CEO, Noora Jamsheer, emphasized the course’s objective: “We aim to equip young professionals with the practical skills and knowledge required to thrive in the pearls and gemstones industry. This training offers a detailed approach to pearl studies and gemmological sciences, helping participants gain a thorough understanding of the field and familiarize themselves with essential tools.”

Jamsheer highlighted that the course is a key component of DANAT’s strategy to train, qualify, and enhance the skills of Bahraini youth in this vital sector. It also aims to raise awareness of Bahrain’s historical pearl industry and its impact on economic development.

The training aligns with Bahrain’s global leadership in the jewellery sector and reflects DANAT’s commitment to providing exceptional educational services across Bahrain and the Middle East.
