De Beers introduces solitaire ring collection inspired by native southern African animals

The selection of eight animals featured in the collection pays tribute to the captivating allure of a continent blessed with breathtaking natural wonders emerging from its fertile soil
South Africa: De Beers has recently unveiled its De Beers’ Forces of Nature collection. Crafting a prestigious new collection based upon eight animals native to southern Africa, De Beers has opted to showcase designs inspired by the natural world. The new collection consists of eight solitaire diamond rings – each accompanied by a crown or jacket crafted by its high-jewellery atelier.
Each ring, despite being intentionally abstracted, depicts the animals in all their glory. In particular, the lion-inspired Jacket Ring features a mane formed from beaded gold and a 5.09-carat warm-white trilliant-cut diamond. The other animals included in the collection include the rhino, leopard, zebra, buffalo, kudu, elephant and giraffe.
Speaking on the new pieces, Céline Assimon, CEO, De Beers said, “I am incredibly proud to unveil eight one-of-a-kind rings from our new high jewellery collection. The eight featured animals are an ode to the natural intoxicating beauty of the African continent, whose earth yields jaw-dropping natural treasures. When designing the rings, we had no constraints; we were guided by the individual character of eight extraordinary diamonds.”
Selecting the rarest natural diamonds, the jewellery house continues to create traditional, yet contemporary designs to this day. Having recently released a holiday campaign highlighting its Enchanted Lotus collection, the House continues to awe with its sparkling accessories.
Since being established in 1888, De Beers has become known across the globe for its research into high-quality diamonds.
