Designer Maria Tash Shares What She Loves Most About The Middle East
Maria Tash is renowned internationally for fashionably unique curated ears and the eye-catching jewelry from conches, daiths, and more. Following the success of her first ever flagship boutique and studio in the Middle East, in Dubai Mall’s Fashion Avenue, Maria Tash now has her sights set on expansion within the region. Next stop on the luxury jeweler’s expansion plan, is Kuwait.
Her second flagship in the Middle East will be located on the ground floor in Prestige at The Avenues in Kuwait. Set to open in mid-April 2020, the new store will be around the same size as its sister boutique in the UAE, and will feature a private women’s only lounge as a nod to the region’s cultural sensibilities.
In a statement about her next Middle East boutique, Maria said, “I always envisioned to launch in Kuwait which makes this store opening very exciting for me. With our experience in testing the market through pop-ups and listening to our audience through organic social media engagement, we knew there was an appetite for the brand and a loyal Maria Tash following in Kuwait. This opening marks our second location in the region and is an important step to building our presence in the Middle East.”
Tash, herself, has an affinity with her Middle Eastern clients and their tastes for fine jewelry and trends, as she speaks specifically about her Kuwaiti clients in anticipation for her new boutique in the country, “I was thrilled to find that there is a deep appreciation of couture and luxury and very high taste levels in Kuwait. There’s a lot of creative expression from Kuwaiti clients I have worked with in the past and they have good ideas about how to work with the jewelry. I have learned that they have an appetite for bigger and more luxurious pieces and make bold choices with their jewelry. Kuwaiti women appreciate the same pieces I wear myself. I love the idea of having another location where I can design with freedom in the Middle East: fun, experimental and big pieces.”
Some of Tash’s most famous clients include Rihanna, Ashley Graham, and even Jordan’s Queen Rania, and she believes in curating ears with her pieces of fine specially designed jewelry.
We can’t wait to see where Maria Tash opens another regional store next! In the meantime, the Middle East’s fashion girls can continue to treat themselves to 14k, 18k, white, yellow, rose and black gold hoops and studs adorned in stunning diamonds.
