DGJG organizes visit to EXPO 2020 with key players in the industry

The visit was to know more about the EXPO, potential collaboration plans with EXPO, its magnitude and what the sector can offer for the millions of visitors arriving in Dubai to take part in the EXPO

Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group organized a visit of a 40-member delegation to the EXPO 2020.All key players in the gold, diamond and gemstones fraternity attended the visit. The visit was to know more about the EXPO, potential collaboration plans with EXPO, its magnitude and what the sector can offer for the millions of visitors arriving in Dubai to take part in the EXPO.

“The pandemic or the global downfall has not majority affected the Dubai’s spirits; we are thrilled to see how the EXPO is shaping up. As a very active industry body, DGJG will be planning elaborate retail activations and novel initiatives to engage with the visitors during the EXPO period. We believe this would also be an opportunity to reiterate Dubai’s status as the ‘City of Gold’ and ‘Jewellery Destination of the World’. Dubai offers wide variety of jewellery that caters to over 190 nationalities; with the world coming together for EXPO, we aim to create a unique jewellery shopping experience in Dubai to all visitors. Starting from Diwali this year, the EXPO would be coinciding with several retail seasons,” said Tawhid Abdullah, Chairman, Dubai Gold &Jewellery Group (DGJG).

“Today was an interesting day, when we were able to witness “Vision of Dubai taking shape”, in form of Dubai Expo 2020. Thanks to Dubai Gold and Jewellery Group and Laila Mohd Suhail, we visited Dubai Expo center and were amazed by the mammoth project, the concept and its execution,” said Ashish Garg, board member,DGJG. “A project of such a scale requires exemplary vision and great organizational skills to be executed . We are really proud to be living in a country which offers both.”
