In the recently released spy thriller, The 355, a star-studded cast are studded with glorious jewels as they save the world from — well, I won’t spoil it for you.

While the talented cast led by Jessica Chastain, Lupita Nyong’o, Diane Kruger, Penélope Cruz and Bingbing Fan are more than enough to keep you enthralled throughout the film, you’d be forgiven if you were momentarily distracted — or dazzled, even — by the breathtaking jewellery adorning them.

Luxury Swiss watchmaker and jeweller Piaget are responsible for the film’s sparkling accessories, as the exclusive watch and jewellery partner for the film. The brand has had a long history with Hollywood and its stars from Elizabeth Taylor to Roger Moore, with The 355‘s star and producer Jessica Chastain having been a friend of the brand since 2015.

In one particularly glamorous scene when the quintet of spies take on an opulent auction house in Shanghai, their breathtaking disguises see them don the most expensive and exquisite jewels of the entire film — one of which is worth a cool $770,000.

Piaget’s sweetly-named Sunny Side of Life rose gold necklace is the piece in question, worn by actress Diane Kruger as German intelligence agent Marie.

The necklace — styled to perfection in the movie alongside a dreamy burgundy velvet jumpsuit with a plunging sweetheart neckline — is made of 18-karat rose gold with intricate Palace Decor engraving.

It’s set with a beautiful 8.2-carat cushion-cut pink spinel, a rare and beautiful gem that offsets beautifully against Marie’s jumpsuit. But that’s not all, of course – there are also 52 marquise-cut diamonds approximating 13.4 carats, and another incredible 254 brilliant-cut diamonds approximating 19.5 carats.

In short, it’s pure opulence, and easily the most expensive piece adorning the film.

But the film has no shortage of sparkle, and the next most expensive piece? It’s another from the Sunny Side of Life collection: this time, an 18-karat white gold necklace worth $585,000.

Worn by Fan Bingbing as Chinese agent Lin Mi Sheng, the necklace is set with three pear-cut, 17 marquise-cut and 361 brilliant-cut diamonds, and a gorgeous back-drop detail.

The film’s third most expensive piece is also worn by Marie (Diane Kruger). The $284,000 Secrets and Lights Ring is crafted from 18-karat rose gold, diamonds and rubies, and features a hidden compartment — naturally, the perfect accessory for any glamorous espionage.
