Dubai: In celebration of the 53rd National Day of the United Arab Emirates, the House of Samra has collaborated with renowned Emirati artist Duhaa Al Halami to honour the essence of the nation’s unity and resilience. Through a shared vision of heritage and innovation, the collaboration celebrates the Spirit of the Union, reflecting the values and aspirations that define the UAE.
Established in 1941, Samra has long been a beacon of luxury and cultural heritage in the UAE’s jewellery industry. Now led by the third generation of family jewellers, the brand integrates eight decades of expertise with a modern, cosmopolitan outlook. Samra’s dedication to innovation and sustainability complements its craftsmanship, aligning seamlessly with the UAE’s ethos of development rooted in tradition.
This year’s collaboration features Duhaa Al Halami, whose work is deeply inspired by her love for the Emirates. Her artistic expression in this partnership manifests through a distinctive piece: a painting of two hands adorned with Samra jewellery. The design symbolises a tribute to the art and culture of the Emirates, embodying both heritage and modernity. In the video, Al Halami says, “The Spirit of the Union is the embodiment of the spirit of unity and cohesion between Emirates, and how we were able to preserve our rich heritage with development and modernity. The story gives me artistic ideas that express pride in the past and ambition for the future.”
Al Halami has also adorned the Samra Jewellery in the video while she is painting. The artwork captures the duality of the UAE’s journey—preserving its rich cultural legacy while embracing modern advancements. By painting hands adorned with Samra jewellery, Al Halami bridges traditional Emirati aesthetics with contemporary design elements, showcasing the evolving identity of the Emirates. Each piece of jewellery featured in the painting was meticulously crafted by Samra, exemplifying the brand’s hallmark of luxury and innovation.
With this initiative, Samra reaffirms its role as a cultural ambassador, using jewellery to tell stories that resonate with the UAE’s vision and values. The project not only honours the Spirit of the Union but also underscores the brand’s vision to fostering creative collaborations that celebrate Emirati identity.
