GemGold 2025 underscores the importance of an exclusive sourcing platform for the South Asian diasporic jewellery trade

On the 10th and 11th of November, the second edition of the first-ever curated jewellery trade show for a specific community of buyers sourcing from India and the Middle East showcases the best of 22KT and 18KT gold and studded jewellery, catering to the sourcing needs of the global South Asian diaspora.
Dubai : As India and the Middle East reaffirm their strength as key jewellery manufacturing and sourcing hubs, GemGold 2025 returns to Dubai with its second edition on 10th and 11th November 2025, at the Al Garhoud Ballroom, Millennium Airport Hotel.
This year’s edition will bring together leading manufacturers from India and the Middle East and hundreds of handpicked global buyers from over 25 countries, creating an environment designed for business precision rather than scale. Unlike traditional trade exhibitions, GemGold focuses on 22KT and 18KT gold jewellery and a compact range of studded jewellery categories that remain at the heart of South Asian diasporic design, culture, and commerce.
The show arrives at a time when new market forces are reshaping South Asian (SA) diasporic demand. Large, organised jewellers from India are expanding into global markets, leveraging the growing diaspora base and creating a more competitive retail environment for local market players. Major Indian retailers — from listed majors to heritage houses — are opening stores across key diaspora hubs, introducing contemporary design sensibilities and modern retail formats.

At the same time, diaspora consumers are closely tracking India’s latest trends through social media and cross-border digital access. It is becoming imperative for the trade to broaden and deepen their supplier networks, to partner with manufacturers offering agile, trend-aligned collections that reflect the evolving preferences of global South Asian buyers.
It is within this evolving trade environment that GemGold has found its purpose. Conceived as the world’s first category and community focused jewellery sourcing platform, the show addresses a long-felt industry gap — a focused, export-ready platform where manufacturers and diaspora-led buyers can engage through a curated, high-relevance experience.
Dubai, with its strategic proximity to India and its established gold ecosystem, has become a natural meeting point for the global markets.
“Diaspora jewellery demand has evolved beyond nostalgia. Today’s consumers are exposed to the latest contemporary designs real time. GemGold recognises this shift — enabling a curated platform that addresses the sourcing needs of the diasporic jewellery trade, bridging the gap between manufacturing centres and retail markets. It is focused on building a strong ecosystem of manufacturers and wholesalers who are redefining how South Asian jewellery is sourced and styled worldwide,” said Soma Bhatta, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, The Retail Jeweller.
“As India and the Middle East formalises its manufacturing ecosystem through new jewellery parks and technological upgrades, and as these markets continue to expand their export footprint, GemGold 2025 positions itself as the critical link— a platform that channels shared expertise into meaningful global growth for the entire pipeline catering to the South Asian diasporic market,” said Samit Bhatta, Co-Founder and Publisher, Retail Jeweller India and Middle East.

Alongside GemGold 2025, the Retail Jeweller Middle East Forum will also take place, convening over 300 leading jewellers, manufacturers, and industry stakeholders from across the Gulf and international markets. The Forum will drive discussions on digitalisation, AI, design innovation, and business scalability — complementing GemGold’s trade platform by shaping a collective vision for the Gulf’s next phase of organised growth.
With its curated scale, focused vision, and global intent, GemGold 2025 is set to strengthen the India–Middle East trade corridor and redefine how the South Asian diaspora sources its gold.
