With over 1 billion euros’ worth of jewellery exported to the UAE in 2022, Italian jewellery manufacturers keep looking at the UAE as one of the top export markets for their products. The Italian jewellery sector was represented by 42 jewellery producers and designers gathered in the Italy Pavilion at the Watch and Jewellery Middle East Show, the bi-annual exhibition held recently at Sharjah Expo Centre.

Amedeo Scarpa, Director of ITA office in the UAE said, “Italy exported 10 billion euros worth of jewellery all over the world in 2022. The UAE represents one of the most important destination markets by importing more than 1 billion euro yearly from Italy (+24% compared to previous year). We are largely the third largest world supplier of this market with 11% of the market-share. Our goal is to create opportunities for the Italian companies that want to reach new markets and the lounge that we have set up at the Italy Pavilion will facilitate connections and interactions between Italian exhibitors and buyers and generate new business deals.”

The Italian jewellery sector is committed to responsible sourcing and is seeking to reduce waste and carbon footprint, embracing sustainability, ethics and transparency. Under the slogan “Sustainability is SustainabITALY”, the environmental, economic and social sustainability of the Italian products are keeping the ‘Made in Italy’ reputation strong and innovative.
