The launch event saw the presence of actor Aparna Balamurali and regional influencers like Ajmal Khan and Aifoona, who amplified its visibility through their social media posts, creating a significant buzz
Dubai: Leading Kerala jewellery retailer City Gold and Diamonds has made its foray into the international market with the inauguration of its first store in Dubai. Strategically located at the Gold Souq Extension in Deira, the store positions the brand in the heart of Dubai’s bustling retail jewellery hub.
The store opening was a high-profile event, with actor Aparna Balamurali, and attended by the company’s directors and key managerial personnel. Celebrations included a vibrant evening of music and dance performances, amplified by the presence of regional influencers such as Ajmal Khan, Aifoona, Muhsina Puthiya Valappil and Raheema Rasheed. Leveraging their strong social media presence, these influencers created strong pre-event buzz and provided live updates via Instagram stories and reels, significantly boosting the event’s visibility.
The Dubai store launch signifies a major milestone for the brand, unlocking opportunities in the Middle East, known for its expansive and high-demand jewellery market. The new store at the Gold Souk serves as a strategic foothold, paving the way for future expansions across the large Middle East jewellery market, and aligns with City Gold and Diamonds’ broader vision of international growth and market diversification, allowing it to take a bold step towards becoming a global jewellery brand.
Founded at Kasaragod (Kerala) in 1999 by K A Abdul Kareem, Chairman of the City Gold Group, City Gold and Diamonds has grown steadily, with three stores in Kerala and two in Karnataka. In 2016, the brand revamped ‘City Gold’ into ‘City Gold and Diamonds’ and re-entered the market with a new brand logo and corporate colour theme. Today, it has five showrooms located at Kasaragod, Uppala, Kanhangad, Puttur and Mangalore.
