Kyan Jewellery, led by designer Amal Sanad, represents Bahrain at ‘Made in Italy Day’ in Manama

Kyan Jewellery, led by Bahraini designer Amal Sanad, was featured, showcasing how local craftsmanship can engage with global luxury standards. The event, hosted by the Italian Embassy, explored synergies in design, fashion, and jewellery between Bahrain and Italy.
Manama: The Embassy of Italy in Manama, in partnership with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE), hosted the second edition of Made in Italy Day at the historic Qalat al-Bahrain (Bahrain Fort), celebrating Italy’s global leadership in design, fashion, and craftsmanship.
A highlight of the evening was a masterclass by internationally renowned fashion designer Ettore Bilotta, who shared insights into the artistry of Made in Italy – High Fashion Tailoring. The session set the stage for an immersive showcase of Italian and Bahraini excellence.
Among the standout presentations was the jewellery showcase, which captured the spirit of innovation and heritage that defines both regions. Kyan Jewellery, founded by Bahraini designer Amal Sanad, played a central role in this segment. Known for her ability to blend traditional Bahraini design elements with contemporary flair, Sanad exhibited collections that bridged cultural narratives with modern luxury. Her creations resonated with the event’s theme of craftsmanship rooted in heritage but driven by design innovation.
Kyan’s pieces were exhibited alongside iconic Italian luxury houses, reinforcing the shared values of artisanal mastery, authenticity, and aesthetic refinement. The presence of Sanad’s work not only spotlighted Bahrain’s emerging voice in global jewellery design but also offered a compelling counterpoint to Italy’s long-standing legacy in fine jewellery and luxury goods.
The celebration continued at the Italian Ambassador’s Residence in Saar, which was transformed into a tribute to the country’s design capitals—Rome, Milan, Florence, and Naples. Attendees were treated to a curated display of Compasso d’Oro-winning industrial designs, haute couture collections, handcrafted leather goods by Alfredo Beretta, and a luxury car showcase featuring Ferrari and Maserati.
Complementing the visual spectacle was a culinary showcase led by Chef Simona Girelli of Sapori di Toscana, who offered a taste of Italy’s gastronomic heritage rooted in the Mediterranean diet and Slow Food tradition.
The event marked a fertile platform for exploring synergies in fashion, design, jewellery, and lifestyle sectors. Kyan Jewellery’s participation serves as a noteworthy example of how local brands can leverage international collaborations to reach global audiences.
