Malabar Gold & Diamonds aims to distribute more than 2,50,000 Iftar meals across 13 global markets for Ramadan

The Hunger-Free World project has been a key initiative since the company’s establishment in 1993, and efforts to eradicate hunger are intensified during Ramadan
Doha: In line with its social responsibility initiatives, Malabar Gold & Diamonds will collaborate with embassies, government bodies, NGOs and other organizations to distribute essential food supplies – including Iftar meals – to families and individuals in need throughout Ramadan. These efforts will align with the company’s year-round ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) programmes across its 13 global markets.
The brand has planned the distribution of over 2,50,000 Iftar meals across the UAE, KSA, Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, Kuwait, Malaysia, Singapore, the USA, the UK, Canada, and Australia. In Qatar, for instance, meals will be provided to labourers in Wakra, Wukair, Shahaniya, Jabiya, Al Khore, and Markhya in partnership with local community organisations, including Qatar Sparsham, Youth Forum, Cultural Forum, the Centre for Indian Community, KMCC, Global Kerala Pravasi Association, ICBF, and FOCUS Qatar. Similar tie-ups are in place in all the company’s markets.
Malabar Group Chairman MP Ahammed stated that the Hunger Free World project has been a key initiative since the company’s establishment in 1993. He noted that with the project spanning 85 locations worldwide, efforts to eradicate hunger are intensified during Ramadan.
Abdul Salam K P, Vice Chairman of Malabar Group, highlighted that the Ramadan welfare programmes rely on the involvement of the company’s employees, who play a significant role in identifying areas in need and distributing food. He acknowledged their dedication and also expressed gratitude to customers, whose support enables the company to sustain these initiatives.
Shamlal Ahamed, Managing Director – International Operations, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, added that the company’s community support efforts reflect its broader goal of shared prosperity. He emphasised that through large-scale Iftar meal distributions, the company aims to make a tangible impact and encourage other organisations to undertake similar initiatives.
Meanwhile, Malabar Gold & Diamonds has launched a gold rate protection scheme, allowing customers to secure prevailing gold rates by paying 10% as advance for a purchase. This initiative aims to offer customers a hedge against gold price fluctuations ahead of the upcoming jewellery-buying season. Customers can block gold rates until April 30, 2025, with an advance payment, ensuring they benefit from either stable or reduced rates at the time of purchase.
The offer is available across all Malabar Gold & Diamonds showrooms, both in-store and online via the company’s mobile app. Additionally, customers making advance bookings on or before April 13 will receive a complimentary diamond voucher. The company has also introduced options to pay 50% or 100% of the purchase amount in advance, securing gold rates for 90 and 180 days, respectively. This scheme is available year-round across all stores.
