[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Junagadh-based CVM Exports have carved a niche for itself both in India and the Middle East markets with its unique handmade creations. In an interview with The Retail Jeweller, Deepak Choksi, Founder, CVM Exports talks about what set them apart.

TRJ: What are the main objectives behind participating in the VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show?

Deepak Choksi (DC): CVM Exports has a presence in Dubai and we are already supplying to a number of corporates and retailers here. This is our first time at the VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show and it is a perfect platform to showcase our diverse collections on a global platform. While we have been conducting business in the Middle East, we want to better understand trends and demands of the market from customer feedback.

TRJ: Tell us more about the products that you will showcase to the Middle East retailers and consumers?

DC: We have done a thorough research on the Middle East market before making a foray there. What came high up as part of this research was the fondness for accessories in this part of the globe. We wanted to make the most of this, hence our collection will have unique products like a handcrafted diamond clutch or a handcrafted gold handbag.

This apart, we are taking our exclusive collections like Bariki jewellery – comprising of handmade gold jewellery and our newly launched diamond products to Dubai this time. The price range begins from Rs 9,000. We are also going to showcase to the world our Jud jewellery collection. This collection is made of Junagadh uncut diamonds and polka and includes both bridal and daily wear.

Our primary objective is to display different collections to the Middle East market hence we will be showcasing our exclusive Valentine collection in handmade gold. The sets are made of pendant, chains and earrings and are priced at Rs 30,000 – Rs 40,000.

TRJ: What is your USP that the Middle East retailers can benefit from?

DC: Our handmade jewellery is our USP. There are very few manufacturers in the market who have draft each design the way we do. When machine made products are flooding the market, we have been able to retain the look and finish of our products by keeping them handmade. We are also confident of catering to markets beyond Dubai and CVM Exports has put in quite an effort to understand the design sensibilities of the region and create jewellery accordingly.

TRJ: How have you planned to reach out to retailers?

DC: We will be staying back for a couple of days after the VOD Dubai International Jewellery Show for one-on-one meetings with interested retailers. That should give us a good idea of what they are looking at and how we can cater to their needs. We are also confident of catering to markets beyond Dubai.

How do you intend to leverage your business in the Middle East?

DC: We plan to take CVM Exports to the rest of the Middle East and GCC countries. The facilities of conducting business in Dubai are immense. Apart from its strategic location, the laws and rules in Dubai are very conducive to carrying out business there. We want to benefit as innovators and get the opportunity to understand and meet demands of the Middle East market.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
