The brand celebrated its sesquicentenary with a star-studded gala highlighting heritage and innovation
Piaget, the illustrious Swiss watchmaking and jewellery house, has commemorated its 150-year legacy with an extraordinary ‘Essence of Extraleganza’ High Jewellery and Watch collection showcase in Abu Dhabi. The landmark celebration, hosted in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), not only honoured the brand’s remarkable journey but also underscored the emirate’s emerging status as a global luxury destination.
The opulent event, staged at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, artfully bridged the vibrant creativity of the 1960s and 70s with contemporary artistry. Piaget’s meticulously curated collection paid homage to the brand’s enduring commitment to craftsmanship, innovation, and timeless elegance.
Bollywood actor Aditi Rao Hydari, renowned for her grace and royal lineage, represented India at the event, joining an illustrious gathering of international celebrities and influencers. Hydari reflected on Piaget’s significance, noting that the brand has always represented the pinnacle of artistry and heritage—a legacy that deeply resonates with her own appreciation for tradition and creativity. She expressed her inspiration at witnessing 150 years of exceptional craftsmanship, describing the evening as a celebration not just of Piaget’s journey, but of the timeless elegance that continues to define the brand.
Benjamin Comar, CEO of Piaget, conveyed Piaget’s gratitude for the opportunity, highlighting the deep and sincere relationship between the brand and the region. He described their ability to exhibit Piaget’s extraordinary know-how in such a magnificent setting as a rare privilege.
Noura Al Foulathi from ADIO emphasised their honour in partnering with Piaget, underlining their shared commitment to excellence and innovation. She noted that the Essence of Extraleganza event underscores their dedication to forging global partnerships that enrich the economy and cement Abu Dhabi’s position as a curated luxury destination.
The gala dinner brought together an international constellation of luminaries, including Thai actor Apo Nattawin, model Gabrielle Caunesil Pozzoli, Maharaja Sawai Padmanabh Singh, Turkish actress Ayça Ayşin Turan, and Aditi Rao Hydari. Each guest was adorned in Piaget’s exquisite High Jewellery and watches, embodying the brand’s global appeal.
The evening culminated with a special performance by legendary American R&B band Kool & the Gang, adding a jubilant note to the celebration of Piaget’s sesquicentennial journey.
