Thangals Jewellery breaks barriers with all-women showroom in GCC
Located in Deira Gold Souq, the 500 sq.ft showroom is staffed entirely by women, showcasing Thangals Jewellery’s dedication to inclusivity and empowerment
Dubai: Thangals Jewellery has added a new feather to its cap with the inauguration of its first All-Women Crew Showroom in the GCC region. This milestone marks a significant stride towards women’s empowerment and sets a new benchmark for inclusivity in the jewellery industry.
Speaking about the motivation behind this progressive showroom, Abdul Muneer Puzhangara, Chairman, Thangals Group, said, “Thangals Jewellery believes in the capabilities of women and wanted to provide them with opportunities for growth within the jewellery industry. From support staff to cashiers, and from retail sales personnel to the branch head, all roles are fulfilled by women. This marks a forward-thinking step towards growth and accountability in women’s empowerment for Thangals.”
The 500 sq.ft showroom, located in Al Shamal Building, Deira Gold Souq boasts the range of Thangals’ latest collections. Notably, women are key drivers of demand of up to 90% in the jewellery industry, influencing market trends and decisions throughout the supply chain. This showroom distinguishes itself as the region’s first in the jewellery industry to feature an all-female crew, highlighting the brand’s commitment to women’s empowerment, aligned with similar initiatives in the retail sector.
The market has responded positively, with industry leaders acknowledging it as a commendable initiative by Thangals Jewellery. From a branding perspective, the new showroom has gained significant traction among consumers through its diverse marketing initiatives.
Before assuming their roles at this showroom, the women underwent comprehensive training under the guidance of sales leadership and were deployed to different locations to gain hands-on experience. The branch which is powered by 13 professional women has been consistently performing at the same level as other Thangals Jewellery showrooms, often surpassing the targets set by management.
