The beginning of La Marquise Jewellery involved transforming precious stones into magnificent fine jewellery. The brand offers jewellery pieces in 18-karat gold, natural diamonds, pearls and gemstones. The brand has developed into a prominent global chain of retail boutiques with locations in five-star hotels, duty-free shops and shopping malls. The brand’s personalised approach and comprehensive portfolio, which cater to all tastes with a wide variety of exquisite and trend-setting designs, have caught the attention of stylish socialites and are favoured by women from every societal group.
Here are excerpts from a conversation The Retail Jeweller had with Nishith Shah, CEO, La Marquise Jewellery, about the brand’s journey, latest releases and future plans:
Tell us about your brand’s USP.
We are award-winning creators of timeless and exclusively designed diamond and gemstone jewellery. Our business has different verticals within rough diamond trading, polished diamond trading, jewellery manufacturing and retail. Our family has been in the diamond and jewellery industry since 1986; and our primary focus was towards polished diamonds. Over time, we became heavily involved in the Middle East region and finally La Marquise was established in Dubai during the 90’s. Even today, polished diamonds still hold the top spot in our operations.
La Marquise became the core of our jewellery retail business. Today, La Marquise has global retail and wholesale operations for finished jewellery. We are headquartered in Dubai where we also have a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility. Our company strength lies in our quality and service standards and we employ over 250 professionals worldwide. We have over four decades of experience within the luxury jewellery industry and practice a mines-to-market brand philosophy.
What are your signature collections and latest designs?
With the benefit of having one of the largest fine jewellery manufacturing units in the region, our jewellery designs cater to a variety of clients, ranging from classic to contemporary designs.
This year, we launched the Luna Collection, which has been a resounding success. The collection finds its inspiration from the magnificent Roman architectural elements, beautifully manifested through the elegant simplicity and octagonal geometry of columns and pillars. Handcrafted in 18-karat gold, this collection is adorned with dazzling natural white diamonds and meticulously hand-cut white mother of pearl.
How has your brand fared over the last few decades? What are your future plans?
Over the last decade, we have made significant strides in our growth. We have tripled our point of sales and moving forward, we will be focusing on solidifying our presence within the GCC.
