Sabyasachi Jewellery presents an exclusive collection of high jewellery at Printemps Doha

The iconic Indian designer showcased a bespoke collection inspired by royal muses at Printemps Doha

Doha: Sabyasachi Mukherjee has made a significant entrance into the Qatari luxury market with an extraordinary high jewellery exhibition at Printemps Doha, captivating a distinguished international audience of VIPs, collectors, and cultural luminaries.

The showcase, running until 14th December 2024, presents an extraordinary collection that masterfully intertwines traditional Indian craftsmanship with contemporary design sensibilities. Drawing inspiration from two iconic women—Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser and Elizabeth Taylor—the collection narrates a compelling story of cultural heritage, opulence, and sophisticated artistry.

During exclusive appointments concluding on 9th December 2024, Sabyasachi offered collectors and fashion enthusiasts an intimate glimpse into his creative process. Visitors were invited to explore bespoke customisation options, gaining unprecedented insight into the designer’s meticulous approach to jewellery creation.

In a statement at the launch, Sabyasachi elaborated on the conceptual depth of his collections. He explained, “The Bengal Royal Collection pays homage to European techniques, Mughal motifs, and the intricate Bengali filigree tradition of Calcutta. It is an ode to iconic eras of craftsmanship, spanning from the Georgian age to the Belle Époque.”

He further described the Bengal Byzantine Broadway Collection as a nuanced dialogue between legacy and modernity, inspired by cultural exchanges from Constantinople to New York—a testament to the brand’s global narrative and design philosophy.

Anna Neti Fontaine, General Manager at Printemps Doha, emphasised the significance of the collaboration. She remarked, “Hosting Sabyasachi was a true privilege. His breathtaking collection transcends conventional luxury, weaving heritage, emotions, and dreams into timeless pieces that resonate profoundly with their owners.”

The exhibition attracted an international cohort, including media representatives, diplomats, and cultural figures, underscoring the global appeal of Sabyasachi’s artistic vision. Each meticulously crafted piece speaks a universal language of beauty, bridging diverse cultural narratives through exceptional design.

This Doha showcase strategically aligns with Sabyasachi’s broader global expansion initiatives. The brand continues to extend its international presence, including a designer residency at Bergdorf Goodman in the United States, running until 3 February 2025. Additionally, the brand’s fine jewellery remains available at its flagship store in Hyderabad’s Taj Krishna, which opened on 21 January 2023.
