Siroya Jewellers crafts record-breaking handmade gold chain for tenth anniversary 

Crafted by 100 artisans, the chain has been certified by Guinness World Records as the longest handmade gold chain globally, marking the brand’s tenth anniversary 

Dubai: Siroya Jewellers has marked its tenth anniversary with the creation of a five-kilometre-long handmade gold chain, now officially recognised by Guinness World Records as the longest of its kind. 

The Dubai Celebration Chain weighs 240 kilograms and is composed of more than four million individual links, each hand-forged and assembled by 100 artisans at the company’s manufacturing facility in Dubai. The project was completed over several months, using traditional hand-weaving techniques alongside strict quality control processes. 

Every link in the chain was individually crafted, inspected, and then added to the growing length. The substantial weight and length required detailed logistical planning, including the sourcing of gold, the organisation of workspace, and secure storage for the chain during production. The process involved multiple stages — forging, polishing, and final assembly — each overseen to ensure uniformity and precision. 

Once complete, the chain was measured and weighed in the presence of Guinness World Records officials, who verified its dimensions and confirmed that it surpassed all previous records in the category. The official measurement established the length at five kilometres and the total weight at 240 kilograms, qualifying it for certification. 

Siroya Jewellers unveiled the Dubai Celebration Chain during an event at its headquarters showroom in Dubai, attended by company executives, artisans, and invited guests. The occasion was used to acknowledge the collaborative effort between the craftspeople and the management team in delivering a project of such scale. 

The chain will be displayed at Siroya’s showroom for a limited period before being presented at selected trade fairs and industry exhibitions. According to the company, this display schedule will allow both local and international audiences to view the chain and understand the scope of the craftsmanship involved. 

Industry observers have noted that few jewellery projects attempt this scale of manual production, citing the coordination of 100 artisans and the assembly of over four million links as a demonstration of operational and artisanal capability. The Guinness certification adds a documented record to the achievement, ensuring its place in global jewellery history. 

The Dubai Celebration Chain now stands as a reference point in large-scale gold craftsmanship, combining traditional methods with organisational precision to meet both technical and certification requirements.
