Abu Dhabi: Indian fine and high jewellery house Jaipur Gems has opened a new boutique in Abu Dhabi, marking its second store in the United Arab Emirates and coinciding with the brand’s 50th anniversary year. The opening signals the company’s continued focus on the Gulf region as a key international growth market.

Led by Creative Director and CEO Siddhartha Sacheti, Jaipur Gems has steadily expanded beyond India in recent years, with its first international boutique opening in Dubai in 2023. The Abu Dhabi store follows a different design approach, reflecting the brand’s strategy of tailoring each retail space to its local market rather than replicating a single global format. While the Dubai boutique features warmer tones and ornate finishes, the Abu Dhabi location adopts a streamlined, contemporary aesthetic aligned with the city’s positioning as a luxury capital.

The new boutique showcases an extensive selection of high jewellery, drawing from Jaipur Gems’ archival techniques and gemstone expertise. To mark the 50-year milestone, Sacheti revisited designs created earlier in his career and re-interpreted them using updated compositions and materials. This approach reflects the brand’s broader design direction, which balances heritage craftsmanship with evolving consumer preferences for refined, wearable statement pieces.

Among the highlights presented at the Abu Dhabi opening were emerald, tanzanite and tourmaline-led suites, alongside a growing focus on rubellites and coloured tourmalines. According to Sacheti, demand for these gemstones has been increasing, particularly among clients seeking vivid colour without the price sensitivity associated with top-tier rubies. Large-format coloured stones featured prominently across necklaces, rings and earrings, reinforcing Jaipur Gems’ positioning in the high jewellery segment.

The brand also highlighted renewed interest in traditional techniques such as textured gold work, and Art Deco-influenced motifs, reflecting both Indian design heritage and international stylistic references. Sacheti noted that Art Deco continues to resonate with Indian designers due to its historical presence in Indian architecture and royal jewellery.

With the Abu Dhabi opening, Jaipur Gems aims to strengthen its relationship with regional clients while building long-term brand recognition in the Middle East. Further expansion is already under way, with a new Mumbai store scheduled to open soon.

Founded in 1974, Jaipur Gems operates a network of boutiques across India, with stores in key cities including Jaipur, Mumbai and New Delhi. The Abu Dhabi opening brings the brand’s retail footprint to two stores in the UAE.
