Bahraini designer Nour Shamlou launches her eponymous brand at Paris Haute Couture Week

The debut of Maison Nour Shamlou underscores the growing presence of Middle Eastern designers on the global luxury stage
Paris: Bahraini designer Nour Mohsen Shamlou officially launched her luxury brand, Maison Nour Shamlou, during the recent Paris Haute Couture Week. The label debuted at an exclusive event at Precious Room Paris in Palais Vivienne, where Shamlou unveiled her inaugural collections of fine jewellery and luxury leather goods to fashion and jewellery industry professionals.
The launch follows more than six years of experience designing for leading luxury houses, including Louis Vuitton, where Shamlou became the first Bahraini and Arab woman to join the brand’s women’s luxury handbag design team. During her time there, she contributed to globally recognized collections while developing expertise in luxury product development and exceptional craftsmanship.
Launching from Paris, Maison Nour Shamlou presents a contemporary vision of luxury that unites fine jewellery and leather goods through a distinctive design language. Exploring the relationship between metal and leather, structure and softness, ornament and function, the collections are guided by a refined French-Arabian aesthetic inspired by architecture, cultural heritage, symbolism and human emotion.
At the core of the brand is the belief that luxury should carry meaning beyond aesthetics. Every piece is designed with intention, drawing on themes such as identity, self-love, mental well-being, human connection and women’s empowerment. This philosophy is reflected in collections including Ombre, which explores healing, resilience and personal growth through the interplay of light and shadow, and Empreinte, inspired by Bahrain’s Athar Monument and the enduring influence of women on society.
Alongside the launch, Shamlou participated in a series of events and industry programmes during Paris Haute Couture Week to introduce the brand to buyers, fashion professionals and stakeholders across the global jewellery and luxury sectors.
Raised in a family immersed in jewellery making, craftsmanship and generations of artisanal tradition, Shamlou developed an early appreciation for the emotional significance of finely crafted objects. She later refined her creative vision through studies in Jewellery, Accessory and Leather Design at Politecnico di Milano before joining Louis Vuitton in Paris, where she gained first-hand experience in luxury design, product development and exceptional craftsmanship.
Her entry into the luxury jewellery sector began after participating in the ‘20 Years and 20 Innovations’ programme launched by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, President of Bahrain’s Supreme Council for Women.
Maison Nour Shamlou is also rooted in more than 230 years of goldsmithing heritage through the Al Sayegh family, whose generations of artisans shaped Shamlou’s appreciation for craftsmanship from an early age. Combined with her international education and experience in the French luxury sector, this legacy forms the foundation of a brand that bridges heritage with contemporary luxury.
The debut of Maison Nour Shamlou during Paris Haute Couture Week underscores the growing presence of Middle Eastern designers on the global luxury stage while showcasing Bahraini fine jewellery and design talent on one of the industry’s most influential international platforms.
Maison Nour Shamlou’s collections are available for private viewing and enquiry through the brand’s official channels.
