AGD Gold & Diamonds appoints Malayalam film actor Kunchacko Boban as brand ambassador

The move supports customer engagement leveraging the actor’s influence, and allows the brand to build relationships beyond transactions
Dubai: AGD Gold & Diamonds has appointed Malayalam film industry actor and producer Kunchacko Boban as its brand ambassador, marking a move to strengthen its connection with customers across the sizeable Malayali community and other diaspora in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The association is based on shared values and an alignment between the brand’s approach and the actor’s public image.
The announcement was accompanied by an interaction between Shafeek A, Managing Director, AGD Gold & Diamonds and Kunchacko Boban, where the two engaged in a conversation centred on experiences, shared perspectives and the ideas that connect people. The brand presented this engagement as an extension of its focus on building relationships beyond transactions.
The brand has also invested in in-house design centres to support product development and maintain control over its offerings. Alongside this, it continues to update its collections in line with market demand. Its approach to retail is supported by initiatives such as the Mangalya Gold Scheme, an 11-month savings plan that allows customers to purchase jewellery with structured payments.
The appointment of Kunchacko Boban is expected to support brand visibility and strengthen communication with regional audiences. As a known figure in the Malayalam film industry, his association is likely to contribute to wider reach and engagement across existing and new customer segments.
For retail jewellers, celebrity associations continue to play a role in building brand recall and trust. By aligning with a public figure, jewellery brands are able to reinforce their positioning and create familiarity among consumers. Such collaborations also support customer acquisition by drawing attention across markets where the brand operates.
The company has focused on building a customer base through consistent engagement and by adapting to changing market preferences.
Founded around 2000, AGD Gold & Diamonds has expanded its presence across multiple locations, including Kayamkulam, Kochi andChanganassery in Kerala, along with operations at Dubai, Ajman and Deira in the UAE.
