Dubai: The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) made a significant mark at the 70th Bangkok Gems and Jewellery Fair, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 9-13. Represented by the “Emirati Goldsmiths” Platform, this participation reflects SCCI’s dedication to fostering youth-led ventures and supporting emerging Emirati talents in the gold and jewellery design sector.
The delegation, led by Mona Sultan Al Suwaidi, Director of the Executive Office of the SCCI’s Chairman and head of the Emirati Goldsmiths Platform, featured a group of talented Emirati women designers. They showcased their innovative collections of gold and diamond jewellery, which were well-received by attendees and industry experts alike. This response underscores the growing influence and reputation of Emirati designers in the global jewellery market.
In addition to showcasing their work, the designers participated in specialised seminars and craft workshops conducted by renowned international experts. These sessions provided valuable insights into industry trends and techniques, further enhancing the participants’ skills and expertise.
Al Suwaidi emphasised the importance of international exhibitions in reinforcing the UAE’s status as a premier hub for jewellery design and manufacturing. She highlighted the unique pieces created by Emirati designers, inspired by the UAE’s rich heritage, which not only showcase exceptional craftsmanship but also align with contemporary global trends.
This initiative aligns with the SCCI’s commitment to supporting Emirati talents in the handicraft and jewellery design sectors, providing them with platforms to gain visibility at top-tier international trade shows. By facilitating access to such opportunities, the SCCI aims to integrate Emirati designers into the global jewellery industry, driving national economic growth and opening new horizons in international markets.
