4th edition of Retail Jeweller Middle East Awards 2023 recognises jewellers across GCC for their excellence in retail, design and marketing
Dubai, UAE: The 4th Retail Jeweller Middle East Awards 2023, the Middle East’s premier recognition platform for retail jewellers, was held last week amidst much fanfare at the Hyatt Regency, Deira, Dubai.
The Retail Jeweller Middle East Awards testify to the growing importance of the Middle Eastern region as one of the world’s most important jewellery markets. It also signifies its evolving retail landscape and the changing mindset of jewellers reinventing design, marketing and prevailing retail practices to offer customers, especially the youth, a more experiential retail environment.
The award categories encompassed recognition in design and marketing for jewellers and individual contributions to the industry for other stakeholders across the UAE, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
The Retail Jeweller Middle East Awards has evolved to gain stature in the GCC markets, as was evident from the turnout of more than 300 industry members from across the region. The energy in the room was palpable as each winner went up to the stage to receive their trophy.
The ‘Creating Masterpieces for a World Record’ award went to Shiv Narayan Jewellers for a magnificent Lord Ganesha gold pendant weighing 1.3 kg and decorated with 36,000 diamonds. Tushar Agarwal, MD, Shiv Narayan Jewellers, received the award at the function and spoke of the special Lord Ganesha pendant and other initiatives by the company.
The award for ‘Pioneering Business Leader in Mining (UAE)’ went to Dev Shetty, Founder of FURA Gems, who accepted the recognition on behalf of his entire team that has made the company into a veritable powerhouse in the realm of coloured gems mining.
A special cheer went up for all the women being recognized for their contribution to the industry – Khadija Ahmed Alsalami -‘Best Emirati Jewellery of the Year (Designer, UAE)’; Maha Al Sibai – ‘Innovative Jewellery Designer of the Year (Designer, UAE)’; Sumaya Bakkar – ‘Best Millennial Jewellery of the Year (Designer, UAE); Laila Suhail – ‘Incredible Contribution to the Dubai Gem and Jewellery Industry (UAE)’, among others.
This year, the Retail Jewel Middle East Awards was presented by Shiv Narayan Jewellers and powered by GDK Gold and Diamond Jewellery, Limelight Diamonds, Nitin Jewellers and ORO Precious Metals Pvt. Ltd.
