Nada Ghazal showcases sculptural fine jewellery inspired by Lebanese heritage, resilience and personal storytelling

The designer relies on her own experiences as she goes about her international brand-building journey and ambition to strengthen Lebanon’s jewellery ecosystem

Beirut: Lebanese jewellery designer Nada Ghazal, who expanded her international retail presence with a boutique on London’s Pont Street in 2025, continues to draw upon Lebanese heritage, craftsmanship and narrative-led design to build her brand’s identity.

Her latest collection, Whispers of Joy, demonstrates how closely the brand’s product development remains connected to current events and personal experiences. Originally conceived around optimism and softer wave forms, the collection evolved after conflict resumed in Beirut, before Ghazal ultimately returned to its original theme of joy.

The collection comprises fluid rings, earrings, bracelets and necklaces in matt 18k yellow gold, accented with champagne diamonds, amethyst and yellow, orange and red sapphires. The pieces are positioned around a lighter, more playful aesthetic while retaining the craftsmanship and distinctive forms associated with the brand.

For Ghazal, craftsmanship is also an important component of brand value. “It’s important for me that pieces are made with love,” says Nada Ghazal, Founder and Creative Director, Nada Ghazal Fine Jewelry, emphasizing the role of skilled artisans in creating jewellery with individuality and emotional value.

Ghazal had launched her brand in Beirut in 2004 after returning from Dubai, where she had worked in advertising following studies in graphic design and fine arts at the American University of Beirut. Her advertising experience continues to influence the brand’s positioning, with story-telling forming a central part of its product and communication strategy. “It’s not just about creating pretty things. It’s about having a reason for creating them, a story behind them,” she says.

That proposition has enabled Ghazal to build collections around themes drawn from Lebanon and her own experiences, giving the brand a distinctive identity in an increasingly crowded luxury jewellery market. Her debut collection, Organised Chaos, established the contrast-driven design language that continues across her collections.

Lebanon remains a major source of inspiration even as the designer expands internationally. “There is so much beauty, resilience and history. History and modernity exist together,” she says. “Lebanon taught me to find beauty in imperfection and strength in vulnerability.”

The London opening gave the brand a strategic European market following a significant international milestone in 2024, when Ghazal marked the 20th anniversary of her brand with a pop-up at Bergdorf Goodman in New York. The move into London has strengthened the brand’s direct retail presence and supports Ghazal’s ambition to establish the label among globally recognized independent jewellery names.

The designer’s next phase combines international brand expansion with an ambition to strengthen Lebanon’s jewellery ecosystem. She hopes to establish jewellery education programmes in the country while continuing to develop her own international business.

“I would like us to be one of the first names that come to mind when people think of buying jewellery with permanence,” she says. “Jewellery that you keep, love and pass to the next generation.”

Her positioning comes at a time when independent jewellery brands are increasingly competing through distinctive design identities, founder-led story-telling and direct customer relationships rather than relying solely on trend-driven collections. For Ghazal, the strategy is to build long-term brand equity by connecting jewellery with experiences that transcend its place of origin.

“My stories are not really mine,” she says. “They belong to everyone. We all know joy. We all know loss. We all know hope.”

Nada Ghazal Fine Jewelry has grown from handcrafted 18k-gold and gemstone jewellery into an internationally positioned fine-jewellery label known for sculptural forms, sensual curves and narrative-led design. Today, the brand operates its flagship Beirut showroom and a boutique at 4 Pont Street in London’s Belgravia, while also maintaining a shop-in-shop presence at ABC Achrafieh in Beirut and THAT Concept Store at Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. Its international network includes retailers and boutiques across the US, UK, Europe and the Middle East, including Liberty and Dover Street Market, while online distribution extends through marketplaces such as Farfetch and Moda Operandi.
