Damas brings jewellery heritage to Dubai Mall
A pair of jewellery brands with origins dating back to the 1800s — Faberge and Mikimoto — are lighting up The Dubai Mall’s new Fashion Avenue.
“The establishment of international brands acts as an important factor in enhancing the diversity and quality of Dubai’s global market,” said Anan Fakhreddin, CEO of Damas Jewellery, which opened the two outlets. “One can effortlessly boast it is the perfect market that can attract visitors from all over the world.”
The combined investments on the openings came to $20 million (Dh73.64 million).
“The new stores also mark a major step towards achieving Damas Jewellery’s expansion strategy for 2018”, the company said in a statement. “Damas is one of the first to introduce international jewellery brands to the UAE market, and it is because we believe Dubai is truly the ‘City of Gold’,” the CEO added.
The company operates more than 200 outlets across six countries. As part of its expansion plans, Damas had partnered with Forevermark, part of the De Beers Group in creating the ‘Damas Classic’s’ collection and added to its presence in the region with its chain of specialised stores. Early last year, it added and renovated stores across the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman.
