Dubai: Anil Dhanak, founder of Kanz Jewels, met actor Amitabh Bachchan on the 51st anniversary of the film Deewaar. During the meeting, Dhanak presented Bachchan with a specially created canvas artwork depicting the actor’s iconic look from the 1975 film. Bachchan signed the artwork, turning the tribute into a one-of-a-kind keepsake for the jeweller.

The interaction offered a brief but memorable moment between a long-time admirer and the actor whose films had once been screened at Dhanak’s family-owned cinema in Gujarat.

Dhanak said the experience reinforced the idea that moments and memories can carry greater value than material possessions. Reflecting on the meeting, he noted Bachchan’s punctuality, warmth and discipline, adding that the actor remained grounded despite his long-standing presence in the film industry. More than five decades after Deewaar’s release, Bachchan continues to maintain a strong connection with audiences across generations.

The meeting also comes as Dhanak prepares for the next phase of expansion for Kanz Jewels. The Dubai-headquartered jewellery brand plans to open high-end boutiques across the United Kingdom in the coming months, followed by expansion into other parts of Europe.

Kanz Jewels is also known for housing ‘Najmat Taiba’, recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest and heaviest gold ring in the world. The ring weighs approximately 64 kilograms and is displayed in a Dubai souk.

For Dhanak, the meeting with Bachchan marked a personal milestone that connected his past in cinema with his present role in the jewellery industry.

Kanz Jewels was founded in 1991 and has since grown into a multi-store jewellery retail chain in Dubai. The brand offers gold and diamond collections across its outlets and serves a regular customer base from the UAE’s South Asian community.
