The collection demonstrates how cultural story-telling and artisanal craftsmanship can create distinctive value in today’s competitive fine jewellery market

Paris: Lebanese jewellery designer Noor Fares, Founder of Noor Fares Jewellery, recently unveiled ‘Inayat’, a new 30-piece fine jewellery collection at Sotheby’s Salon during Paris Couture Week, reinforcing the growing appetite for high jewellery that combines cultural story-telling with artisanal craftsmanship.

Named after the Arabic word meaning ‘care, compassion and mindful attention’, the collection draws on Arabic calligraphy, sacred geometry and architectural forms to create contemporary designs rooted in Middle Eastern heritage. Inspired by Fares’ Lebanese identity and her travels across India, the collection reinterprets arches, portals and geometric symmetry into sculptural jewellery that balances symbolism with modern aesthetics.

A key highlight of the Inayat line is Fares’ collaboration with Kuwaiti calligrapher Farah Behbehani, whose Arabic script has been integrated into the structure of the jewellery. Words such as ‘baraka’ (blessing) and ‘hob’ (love) are engraved directly into gold, with each inscription carefully positioned in relation to gemstones and architectural motifs to become part of the overall design language.

The collection showcases traditional craftsmanship through hand-engraved gold and hand-painted mother-of-pearl, complemented by Polki diamonds, rose-cut diamonds, spinels, tourmalines, moonstones, pearls, labradorite and amethyst. The combination of heritage techniques with contemporary design reflects an increasing preference among luxury consumers for jewellery that carries both artistic and emotional significance.

Inayat also reflects a broader shift within the fine jewellery sector, where designers are differentiating their collections through cultural narratives, cross-disciplinary collaborations and distinctive craftsmanship. Rather than focusing solely on rare gemstones or statement silhouettes, brands are increasingly building collections around identity, meaning and provenance to strengthen their positioning in the luxury market.

Since its launch in 2009, Noor Fares Jewellery primarily retails through its official website, offering direct-to-consumer sales. The brand also partners with elite luxury boutiques and global e-commerce platforms like Net-a-Porter, Bergdorf Goodman and others. The brand operates an exclusive by-appointment only showroom in West London.
