The Dubai-based jeweller has transformed the trophy model, valued at Dh300,000, into a luxury collectible. It is being considered as one of the most valuable Lego sets ever made

Dubai: Passion Jewellers, led by its Founder Hemant Karamchandani, has created a unique diamond-encrusted Lego replica of the FIFA World Cup trophy, valued at Dh300,000. The bespoke creation combines fine jewellery craftsmanship with football-inspired artistry and is being positioned as one of the most valuable Lego sets ever made.

The project was conceptualized by Karamchandani after his 10-year-old son, Yash, purchased and built a Lego World Cup trophy model. Inspired by the set, the jeweller decided to re-interpret the piece by incorporating his expertise in luxury jewellery craftsmanship.

Starting with the original Lego set comprising 2,842 pieces, Karamchandani enhanced the model with more than 900 diamonds, along with handcrafted 18-carat gold elements. The final 36cm replica was completed after 35 days of additional craftsmanship at Passion Jewellers’ workshop located at Dubai’s Gold & Diamond Park.

As reported by The National, Karamchandani said, “Every customer comes with a design on a piece of paper, and then we put it into reality. When I looked at the trophy, I thought let me add a special element and bring it up a little bit.”

The jeweller’s team focused on maintaining the accuracy of the original Lego structure while integrating precious materials. The addition of gold components required custom matching and precision craftsmanship to ensure each element fitted seamlessly with the existing model.

Passion Jewellers, which has been creating bespoke jewellery pieces for high-net-worth clients, celebrities and sports personalities for 25 years, has previously undertaken unconventional luxury commissions. These include a pendant inspired by a fast-food packet crafted using rubies, gold and yellow diamonds, as well as a diamond-encrusted baby dummy.

The diamond Lego FIFA World Cup trophy will now become part of the UAE’s ‘100 Dreams. 100 Opportunities’ campaign, developed in collaboration with Vecta Sports through its ‘Beyond the Game’ initiative. The piece will travel across the UAE, featuring in public exhibitions, malls, schools, football academies and community events to encourage creativity, ambition and participation in sports.

According to experts, the trophy represents more than a luxury object, serving as a platform to inspire young people. “When Hemant first shared the concept with us, we immediately recognized its potential to become something much bigger than a trophy,” Vecta Sports co-founder Tom Wood told The National.

The creation also reflects Passion Jewellers’ approach towards bespoke luxury, where traditional jewellery skills are applied to unconventional concepts. The company is yet to decide the trophy’s final destination, with possibilities including a charitable initiative or display at Dubai’s Museum of the Future.

Passion Jewellers operates a single exclusive boutique in Dubai, located at Gold & Diamond Park.
