Manama: Rawan Bint Najeeb Tawfeeqi, Minister of Youth Affairs, Kingdom of Bahrain, attended the launch of a jewellery collection designed by participants from Youth City 2030, an ambitious initiative launched by the Ministry of Youth Affairs to equip young people with essential skills for the future. The event took place at the Kooheji Jewellery pavilion during the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition and showcased pieces created through a specialized training programme conducted in partnership with Kooheji Jewellery.

Walid Al Kooheji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kooheji Jewellery, was also present. The Minister toured the pavilion to view the jewellery designed by the young participants, whose initial ideas and sketches were developed into finished pieces reflecting their creativity and technical skills.

Minister Tawfeeqi highlighted the strong cooperation between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Kooheji Jewellery, noting that the initiative helped discover and support young national talent. She said the programme offered participants valuable hands-on experience to build their skills and improve their career prospects, reflecting the potential of Bahraini youth in creative fields. She also praised the winning designers for turning their ideas into distinct pieces that show their dedication to developing their abilities.

Walid Al Kooheji expressed pride in the young participants for presenting their designs at a major platform like the Jewellery Arabia Exhibition. He said seeing their concepts transformed into final pieces displayed at the pavilion demonstrated the ability of Bahraini youth to innovate and compete in the jewellery industry. He added that the company will continue supporting initiatives that give youth meaningful opportunities to grow their artistic and professional skills and contribute to Bahrain’s development.

Meanwhile, in an agreement signed at Jewellery Arabia 2025, Kooheji Jewellery has partnered with the Bahrain Institute for Pearls and Gemstones (DANAT) to introduce structured testing and certification for all its jewellery. Enhancing transparency and gemstone authenticity, the agreement aims to help customers make clearer, informed jewellery purchase decisions.
